Wrong. For example, this song is still awesome, but in general this genre doesn't appeal to a college student. I used to love this in high school because my expectations were different in music. When? I listen to emo/pop-punk/etc. w.e. you wanna call it, I see how shallow the lyrics are and how the songs are basically composed of power chords and lack any wittiness. So the 16 year old me would have loved this, but the 20 year old me has been exposed to too much music to love this.

I've recently moved to Halifax for school (Dal Arch). Very nice city, quite comparable to Boston in a lot of ways. It seems to be a very intriguing time for Halifax. NIMBYs and heritage interest groups have supposedly long had a suffocating presence but now there's a remarkably large number of exciting developments in the works for a city its size and downtown is (slowly) rebuilding. A lot of people here complain otherwise and it'll? take time, but IMO the future looks quite good for Halifax.

My Dad, Bob Shepherd, flew Halifaxes in 518 squadron coastal command from Iceland and Tiree, Hebrides. He was a meteorological observer and theirs was the squadron that spotted the? bad incoming weather that delayed D-Day. There were airmen of various nationalities in the squadron - especially Canadians I think.

My other Great Uncle Norman, flew as a Pilot in a Halifax for 158 Squadron, completed 35 sorties and awarded the DFC. He even flew the famous "Friday the 13th" Halifax Bomber stationed at 158 Squadron at Lissett Airbase. One of the few Bombers to make it over 100 sorties. Too bad some guy decide to scrap such a historic item. Great though, that the Yorkshire Air Museum Restored a Halifax and named her"? Friday the 13th" .

Thanks a real bunch for this my father was a navigator RAAF seconded to the RAF 76 Sqdn Holme On Spalding Moor. He moved in to better things a few years ago now. Amazing bit of film it brings a tear to my eye every time I watch it, truly wonderful to se the sort of things that were routine to those men... men.. crikey my dad was the? oldest in the crew 22 and 5 months when he crewed up... amazing stuff indeed... thanks again Roger Skinner Australia.

My grandad flew one of these and he said it was not uncommon to be flying back with one or two of the engines working.. Most of his friends didn't make it. He doesn't talk much about it. However, he did just randomly mention the fact that after? the war, they just took a plane and flew round the world because the army was in a major state and didn't really care about much of its equipment (he didn't specify what plane it was).

Good video, thank you. The Halifax meant a lot to my family. My father, aunt and mother in law all worked at the Rootes factory in Liverpool building them. Dad was a foreman in charge of building the centre section incl. inboard engines and? under carriage, my aunt was a riveter and mother in law painted them (including messages of good luck to the future crews!) On completion the aircraft were rolled out of the factory, across the road onto the runway of Speke Airport (now Liverpool John Lennon)

A Largely unsung bomber somewhat in the shadow of the lancaster it was however every bit as effective though it sufferred a higher attrition rate . Yorkshire is littered with airfields where these planes were based , its name is also a town in yorks .

My father-in-law Victor Reed served as a tail-gunner on mainly the Halifax bombers, Friday the Thirteenth being one of them. His logbooks show that he completed 3 tours of operation as well as part of a 4th tour (ie more than 100 missions). He was awarded the DFM whilst a flight sergeant and went on to become? a Squadron Leader. Vic is still going strong at the time of posting this and will be 90 years of age in July 2012. Please post a comment if anyone reading this remembers him.

My stepfather Keith Edward White was a radio op/gunner in halifaxes at Snaith Uk, 51 sqdn. he was an raaf member in a raf crew. Bailed out once when the halifax went down over? basingstoke after a raid. that was bomber MHA. all the crew survived the 30 required missions, only getting a rest after the Basingstoke bail out!

Hi Chris. My father was initially with 77 sqd. Whitley and subsequently Halifax Bombers. Then transfered to 35 sqd. Pathfinder force (Graveley), shot down on Aug31 1943 while on one of the 1000 plane raids on Berlin. He did not know Joe, but as you aware many crews were lost on a daily basis.? He now lives in the Gold Coast ,QLD. At 89 not too many still alive today.....(Group Captain Herbert A. Penny OBE)

The double bus was the 1 Spring Garden to Dartmouth; the bus in front of it was another bus headed to Dartmouth? as well. The articulated bus is far too large to drive in weather like this while the standard bus can do so much more easily. The driver is OBVIOUSLY letting the people off so they can still get back home so to say that it's bad practice for that driver to let his passengers get home safely is a grossly silly statement. Easy to talk big when you're not in the situation, I guess.

Thanks guys for one of the best concert memories of all time. Triumph/Foghat Kansas City Municipal Auditorium, April 2, 1983. At the time, I was a highschool senior working 25 hours a week part time, saving for college. I had to bite the bullet and pay someone $40 to take my shift as a busboy so I could make the show. It? was worth every penny. Rock on and thanks for the memories! I still can't help but airdrum in the car when "Fight the Good Fight" comes on the radio

@JYC422, well, by beat juggling, he is creating a new musical pattern by combining or mixing the? two records back and forth at a specific tempo in order to make those two tracks sound as if it was a completely different instrumental all on it's own. Its actually very difficult to do compared to just plain old scratching, which might sound cool to you, but it is nowhere near the level of complexity of beat juggling. Its like making two random songs sound like the national anthem by mixing them.

Well, here I am at 45 yoa. Thank God above for Youtube. It is like a time machine. I? grew up listening to Triumph, Journey, Toto, Foreigner, Uncle Ted and many other great bands of the 70's and 80's. Along with Steve Smith, Phil Collins and Jeff Pocaro, Gil, you were a major influence on me picking up the drums. I sing and play and watching you and Phil is a treat. When I was a teen, I saved every penny to purchase a Vistalite kit trying to replicate yours. Cheers and keep rocking.
