Funny video, butNoSQL definitely has its place. Rails got slammed for being the bottleneck for Twitter except it wasn't. The mental midgets at Twitter were using a relational DB as the MQ. Supreme idiocy. If you are running a bank that needs the data to be up to date everytime you access it NoSql would make life difficult. But if you are like 90% of the apps out there,? a rdms is overkill in a lot of the places in the app and could be moved over while keeping what needs to stay in a sql db.

This video is pretty misleading... The video has these arguments against mongodb: (in order they were talked about) 1. Its new. ok... 2. Some big sites use MySQL ok.. still don't see a point about why one shouldn't choose mongo 3. Data is not instantly written and its fire and forget. Finally? a valid point, but simply calling :safe => true. waits for it to write. so that point is invalid. 4. SQL DB's have been around for 40 years. ok...

Eher nicht - und auch musste die Bahn damals als Staatsunternehmen nicht betriebswirtschaftlichen Grundsätzen geführt werden.
