When you go skydiving indoors, you will be using a wind tunnel. Many wind tunnels are actually used for scientific study, but some are devoted to indoor skydiving. Because skydiving indoors is quite different from doing so outdoors, the orientation is not as lengthly. You will be taught how to use your safety equipment and use the flight tunnel safely. After your orientation, you will get into your gear and prepare for your flight. You'll likely be wearing a special suit called a jumpsuit, a pair of protective goggles and a pair of protective ear plugs. As far as shoes are concerned, a good pair of athletic shoes should do fine. When you enter the tunnel you will be lifted off the ground by a powerful gust of wind. The wind will pick you up and elevate you as high as 25 feet in the air. You will be able to experience free falling and the feeling of floating down just as you would if you were actually skydiving.
